Eagles Win Big Over Patriots 7-0

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (10/17/24) – The Williams Baptist University men's soccer team picked up its first American Midwest Conference win of the season in a 7-0 rout of Mission on Tuesday evening.

Adrian Briceno, Hugo Gil, and Matheus Farias all scored two goals each in the match, while nine different Eagles recorded at least one shot on goal.

Jacobo Obradors opened up the scoring with an unassisted score.  Briceno followed with back-to-back goals to put the Eagles up 3-0.

Gil pushed the lead to four with an unassisted goal , then scored again with an assist off the boot of Obradors.

Matheus Farias finished out the scoring for WBU with an unassisted, then added the final Williams goal with an assist from Ignacio Jansen.

Rodrigo Pina played the full game in goal for WBU.  He picked up his seventh shutout win of the season and the 11th of his career.

The win moves the Eagles to 5-3-4 on the season, and 1-2-0 in AMC play.  Williams Baptist will return to the pitch on Saturday, Oct. 19 at home against UHSP.  Kick-off is set for 3 p.m.
