Eagles Ranked Second in AMC Preseason Poll
WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (8/19/25) – The Williams Baptist University men's soccer team was chosen to finish second in the American Midwest Conference preseason coaches' poll, the league announced on Tuesday afternoon.
The Eagles received 37 points in the poll along with two first place votes to finish second behind Columbia. The Cougars collected 42 points and four first place votes.
WBU went 12-3-6 overall and 6-2 in AMC play last year, earning an at-large bid to the NAIA Tournament and concluding the year ranked 25th in the NAIA Men's Soccer Coaches' Top 25. Williams collected 18 points to finish tied for second in the league standings in 2024.
First year head coach Lucas Custodio looks to continue the Eagles' success from last year, returning veteran leadership in Lucas Mahlow, Carlos Vial, Mateus Ribeiro, Pedro Paulo, and Lucas Belinello.
In addition, WBU welcomes fresh talent in Drew Jerrett, Harry Lee, Bruno Silveira, and Hugo Farrona.
Williams will begin the 2025 campaign on Saturday, Aug. 23 in Pineville, La. against Louisiana Christian. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m. from Wildcat Field.
