In response to the coronavirus pandemic, Williams Baptist University has adopted the following policies for spectators at athletic events.  These policies are in effect until further notice.  We thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Spectators at Contests

 Spectators are welcome to attend our indoor and outdoor athletic events. For our outdoor athletic events, fans are encouraged to bring their own chair or blanket to sit on.  Bleachers may not be available for our outdoor athletic events.  Admission will not be charged for outdoor athletic events and fans will not be screened for entry.  Social distancing and face coverings are recommended. 

Admission will be charged for indoor athletic events.  Our spectators will not be screened for admission.  Facial coverings will be recommended but not required.  Spectators that are uncomfortable with these policies may elect to not attend athletic events and watch the live stream. The live stream service will be provided for free and will be video only.

Screening and Testing Requirements

 The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) does not require daily screening or testing of our athletes.  Williams Baptist University will follow this guidance.  There will not be daily or periodic screening or testing requirements for our athletes.  However, we will closely monitor our situation.  We fully expect our coaches, staff, and athletes to communicate COVID symptoms to the appropriate personnel.  In addition, there will not be any game day screening for our opponents or the officials.

Facial Coverings and Masks

*It is recommended but not required that spectators wear a mask.

*Players and coaches are not required to wear a mask but are allowed to wear one if desired.

*It is recommended but not required that game workers wear a mask.

*Officials are not required but may elect to wear a mask.

*Scorer’s table workers are not required to wear a mask, but it is recommended.  The scorer’s table will not be on the floor for indoor events.  It will be moved to the stage to help provide social distancing from the teams.

Athletic Training Room

*An athletic trainer will be available at all WBU home athletic events

*Modalities will be limited to hot packs and ice bags

*If other modalities are needed, arrangements must be made in advance with a WBU athletic trainer

*Cups, water and hand sanitizer will be provided to our visiting team

*Towels will not be provided

Positive Cases and Contact Tracing

*WBU has a COVID Response Team, and they will conduct contact tracing of the positive case

*If the positive case has played in an athletic contest while contagious, game film will be reviewed for both teams.  Our opponents will be notified of close or direct contact.

Quarantine

WBU plans to follow the CDC guidelines regarding quarantining to the best of our ability.
