
12 WBU Fall Athletes Named Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes
WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (11/25/24) – 12 Williams Baptist University student-athletes across each of the fall sports were named Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes for their performances in the classroom.
To qualify as a Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete, students must have maintained a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, appear on the eligibility certificate for their sport, and have attended their NAIA institution for at least one full academic year.
Eagles men's soccer and volleyball tied for the most athletes to receive the award with five each.
Men's soccer players to win the award are Andre Akabane, Arthur Ferreira, Fabio Costa, Lucas Nobrega, and Lucas Belinello.
From volleyball, the Eagles placed Sophie Allred, Faith Raymond, Darcy Broglin, Hope Raymond, and Dayshia Espinoza-Ford on the award list.
Women's Cross Country rounded out the awards with Elizabeth Fowler and Calista Christian receiving the honor.
