WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. - The Williams baseball team won big in both games of its home opening doubleheader against Ecclesia College on Friday. The Eagles defeated the Royals 11-0 in the first game and 17-3 in the second.
Game One
The Eagles left the bases loaded twice in the early innings, but they finally notched some runs on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fourth inning when they scored five. They plated six more runs in the bottom of the fifth.
Dezmond Cordova, Skylar Morrison, Luis Febres, and Mason Andrews all nabbed 2 RBIs in the game, while Nicholas Jones and Jacob Watkins got one.
Noah Willingham pitched a complete game shut for the Eagles, allowing one hit, two walks, and striking out seven.
Game Two
Williams picked right back up offensively in the bottom of the first when they scored the first ten batters that came to the plate en route to a 14-run inning.
Aaron Maragni had 4 RBIs in the game, while Jones and Parker Jeffries had 3. Andrews, Josh Bennett, Dylan Creech, and Morrison all collected one RBI.
Cole Doke got the start and pitched 4.0 innings in the win. He allowed one run off two hits, walked four and struck out seven. Spencer Decker got his first career save after pitching 3.0 innings of relief. He allowed two runs off four hits, walked one, and struck out three.

The Eagles are back at Shell Field on Saturday for another doubleheader against Ecclesia. First pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m.
