Big Fourth Inning Gives Eagles Win Over Pioneers
PARAGOULD, Ark. - The Williams baseball team defeated the Crowley's Ridge Pioneers 22-2, in part thanks to a 17-run fourth inning by the Eagles, the most runs scored in an inning by the Eagles in school history. With the win, Williams is now 15-16 overall.
The Eagles scored early and often. They plated two runs in the first, one runs in the second, 17 in the fourth, one run in the sixth and one run in the seventh. The Pioneers scored two runs in the seventh, but that was all for them.
Skylar Morrison went 3-4 at the plate with 5 RBIs and a grand slam to lead the team. Luis Febres and Jacob Watkins both had 3 RBIs. Dezmond Cordova, Jarron Brantley, and Nicholas Jones all had two RBIs, while Mason Andrews, Parker Jeffries, Trae Barnes, and Chas Bell had one each.
Cole Edwards got the start and pitched 2.0 innings. He allowed one hit and struck out three. Jolby Jones pitched 1.0 inning of relief and walked one while striking out two. Cole Doke pitched 1.0 inning of relief and allowed two hits and struck out one. Fowler Maddox pitched 1.0 inning of relief and allowed one hit and struck out one. Blaine Wood pitched 1.0 inning of relief and allowed three hits. Eric Tolar pitched 1.0 inning of relief and allowed two runs off two hits and struck out two. Jones got credit with the win.

The Eagles' weekend schedule has been adjusted thanks to the expected weather on Friday afternoon. They will now host Harris-Stowe for a doubleheader on Thursday, March 30 starting at 1 p.m. at Shell Field. They will play a single 9-inning game on Friday with a TBA start time.
