ST. LOUIS, Mo. (4/12/25) – The Williams Baptist University baseball team closed out a four game series with the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy with a doubleheader split on Saturday afternoon by the final scores of 7-4 and 3-1.
The Eagles struck first in game one with an RBI single from Lawson Aaron. Skylar Morrison followed up with a two-run single to put WBU up 3-0 in the first inning.
After UHSP got runs back in the first and third to cut the lead to one, Gavin Mink added an insurance run with an RBI single in the fifth. Mari Thomas came home on a balk, and Mink scored on a wild pitch to give Williams a 6-2 lead.
UHSP scored two in the fifth to come within two runs, but Gavin Mink drove in another run in the seventh to give WBU the 7-4 win.
The win ties the WBU program record for conference wins in a season at 12.
The Eutectics scored the first runs of game two in the bottom of the first inning. Luke Bullins drove in Jacob Watkins in the top of the second to cut the UHSP lead in half.
UHSP added an insurance run in the fifth to go up 3-1. WBU was unable to rally in the late innings and fell in the fourth game of the series.
The split drops Williams to 21-18 overall and 12-16 in AMC play. The Eagles will return to the field on Tuesday, Apr. 15 for a midweek contest against Blue Mountain Christian. First pitch against the Toppers is set for 3 p.m. in Blue Mountain, Miss.
