Butters' Double-Double Helps Eagles Hold Off Arkansas Baptist

It was a tight first half that saw the Eagles jump to a 12-point lead, but let the Buffaloes hang around and come back to dwindle the lead to just four at the half. The second half started much the same way the first one went, but the Eagles were able to build up another 12-point lead with 15 minutes left in the game. However, they again let the Buffaloes hang around and they were able to dwindle the lead down again, this time to five points with 3:06 left in the game. They cut it to three with a minute left thanks to a pair of free-throws, but they were forced to foul to stop the Eagles and the clock. Jayvon Clark converted both of his shots from the charity strip to push the lead by back to five with 32 seconds left in the game. The Buffaloes were fouled and converted their own two shots to bring it back to a three-point game, but once again Clark was fouled and converted both of his free-throws to put the game away for good.

Butters finished with 22 points and 17 boards.

Two other Eagles also finished in double figures: Clark and Cortez King, each with 10 points.

Besides Butters, Rajohn McIntosh was also in double figures for rebounds with ten. McIntosh just narrowly missed a double-double himself with eight points.

Williams shot 38.5% from the field (30-78), 12.5% from the three-point line (3-24), and 60.9% from the free-throw line (14-23).
