Eagles Soar Past Hornets

The Hornets got the first basket of the game, but the Eagles responded with a 17-4 run that was highlighted with a ferocious dunk by Cortez King. With that run, the Eagles gave themselves a lead that they held by at least six points the rest of the game. Wiliams led 40-30 going into halftime, and the second half began much the same way that first did. The Hornets got the opening basket, only to have the Eagles respond with several buckets, including a dunk by King.

King had three dunks in the game and led the team with 20 points. Shackeel Butters had 19 points, while Rajhon McIntosh scored 16 coming off the bench.

Butters led the team on the boards with nine, while Braxton Haff had six.

Haff also had seven assists in the game.

Williams shot 58% from the field (37-63), 38% from the three-point line (5-13), and 46% from the free-throw line (7-15).
