WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. - The Williams mens basketball team fell to the Columbia Cougars 81-58 on Saturday. With the loss the Eagles are 15-11 overall and 7-9 in conference play. The Eagles honored their lone senior during the Senior Day festivities: Cortez King.
It was a close and back-and-forth game until the Cougars went on a 14-2 run to end the first half and take a 34-28 lead into halftime. The Cougars came out and outscored the Eagles 47-30 in the second half, as the Eagles were unable to stop Columbia from scoring.
Williams shot 37.9% from the field (25-66), 17.9% from the three-point line (5-28), and 37.5% from the free-throw line (3-8).
King and Cory Sanders both finished with 11 points to lead the Eagles, while TJ Clardy had 10.
Rajhon McIntosh led the team with 8 rebounds.
