Eagles Drop Exhibition to Colorado School of Mines

GOLDEN, Colo. – The Williams Baptist University men's basketball team lost in an exhibition matchup to Colorado School of Mines by the score of 86-51.

Frank Petion led the Eagles in points with 14 on 4-for-8 from the field and 2-for-5 from three-point range.  T.J. Clardy and Ben Keton also added nine points.  Tevin Tate tied for the lead in rebounds with Clardy and Petion, all with four.

Duke Hardin started off scoring for the Eagles with a three-pointer early in the game.  Frank Petion would draw a foul on a driving layup to bring the score to 14-10 early.  Unfortunately, the Orediggers would string a 12-0 run and a 10-0 run together in the first half to go into the locker room up 53-26.

The second half would not fare much better, as Mines would start the second half on a 12-0 run.  The Eagles would drop the exhibition 86-51.

The loss will not reflect on WBU's record on the season, still carrying a perfect 5-0 record so far.

WBU will play again Tuesday, Nov. 21 against DII Colorado Christian University in Lakewood, Colo.  Tip-off is set for 6 P.M. local time.
