MCKENZIE, Tenn. (9/20/24) – Jacobo Obradors scored twice as the Williams Baptist University men's soccer team took a 2-2 draw on the road against Bethel (Tenn.) on Friday night.
Obradors wasted no time getting WBU on the board first, finding the back of the net in only the sixth minute of the game on the Eagles' only shot of the half. WBU did not allow any shots on goal from Bethel in the first half, and took a 1-0 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Bethel made the match more interesting out of the intermission when the Wildcats found the equalizer in the 64th minute.
Obradors responded shortly after with his second goal of the night in the 71st minute, giving WBU back a 2-1 advantage.
The Williams defense was unable to hold Bethel in the waning minutes however, as the Wildcats found another equalizing goal in the 83rd minute to tie the match at 2-2.
The Eagles threatened with a late corner kick in the 90th minute, but were unable to find the game-winner.
The draw moves the Eagles record to 3-1-4 on the season.
WBU will round out non-conference play on the road against Freed-Hardeman on Tuesday, Sept. 24. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Henderson, Tenn.
