Obradors Scores Four in Blowout Win

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (10/19/24) – Powered by four first-half goals from Jacobo Obradors, the Williams Baptist University men's soccer team took down the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in an American Midwest Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon by the final score of 8-0.

Obradors scored the first of his four goals in the third minute of the match, after breaking free and shooting a rocket into the net.

Dawson Sawyer assisted Obradors' second score in the 14th minute to put the Eagles up 2-0.  Obradors scored on a rebound off the UHSP goalkeeper in the 22nd minute for the hat trick, and scored once again for good measure with an assist from Ignacio Jansen in the 43rd minute to send the Eagles into halftime up 4-0.

After the break, Adrian Briceno let loose a score in the 52nd assisted by Matheus Farias.  Farias broke free for an unassisted score of his own in the 69th minute to put the Eagles up 6-0.

Briceno scored again in the 81st minute with an assist from Carlos Aedo to go up 7-0, and he completed his hat trick right before the final whistle to give WBU an 8-0 victory.

WBU shined on the defensive front, dominating possession and not allowing a single shot from the Eutectics.  Williams out-shot UHSP 37-0 on the afternoon.

The win bumps the Eagles up to 6-3-4 overall and 2-2 in AMC play.  WBU will look to keep the momentum rolling on Tuesday, Oct. 22 on the road against Central Baptist.  Kick-off is set for 7 p.m. from Conway, Ark.
