ST. LOUIS, Mo. (10/26/24) – Powered by two scores from Jacobo Obradors, the Williams Baptist University men's soccer team took home a 3-0 win over American Midwest Conference for Harris-Stowe State on Saturday afternoon.
The Eagles outshot the Hornets 18-8 in the match, landing seven on frame.
Obradors opened up scoring in the match in the 17th minute with an assist from Mateus Ribeiro. The Eagles took the 1-0 lead into halftime.
Obradors struck again in the second half, burying his 16th score of the season with an assist from Hugo Gil to push the Eagle advantage to 2-0.
Jacob Doehmen sent a ball for Arthur Ferreira to put in for his first goal of the season in the 83rd for WBU's third and final score of the game.
Rodrigo Pina played all 90 minutes of the game in goal for Williams, securing three saves in his 10th shutout of the season and 14th of his career.
With the win, WBU moves to 8-3-4 overall and 4-2-0 in AMC play. The Eagles return to the pitch for a rematch of the 2023 AMC Championship game against Columbia on Tuesday, Oct. 29. Kick-off is set for 3 p.m. at the WBU Soccer Field.
