Eagles to Face Kansas Wesleyan in NAIA Tournament Opening Round
WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (11/16/24) – For the second time in program history, the Williams Baptist University men's soccer team has secured a bid to the NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship Tournament, the NAIA announced on Saturday afternoon.
The Eagles (11-3-5) are set to face Kansas Wesleyan in the opening round of the NAIA National Championship Tournament on Nov. 21 in Bellevue, Neb. Should WBU win the matchup, the squad will face off against No. 8 seeded Bellevue in the second round on Nov. 23. Game times for both rounds will be announced at a later time.
WBU earned an at-large bid to the tournament following its third straight 10+ win season. The Eagles rank second in the nation in shutouts with 13 on the year. The Eagles finished tied for second in the American Midwest Conference regular season standings, and fell after a penalty shootout to eventual champions Missouri Baptist in the semifinal round of the AMC Tournament.
Kansas Wesleyan enters the tournament with an 11-5-3 record, including an 8-2-3 mark in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.
