WBU Swimming Takes Top Honors at Home Meet

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (12/7/23)  – The Williams Baptist University men's and women's swimming teams competed at the Mid-Season WBU Holiday Meet at the Pocahontas Aquatic Center on Wednesday. 

In the mixed 50 meter freestyle, Eric Burns finished second with a time of 28.01, while Timothy Henry was third with a swim of 30.30. Nathanael Adams was sixth with a time of 31.75, while Keegan Naegeli was seventh (31.81). Lizzy Broussard finished eighth (33.43), while Hanna Rushin was 10th (38.99) and Jakob Presley finished 12th (40.75).

In the mixed 200 meter individual medley, Hayden Woodring finished first with a time of 2:36.85, and also finished third in the 100 meter freestyle with a time of 57.90.

Burns was fourth in the 100 meter freestyle with a swim of 59.14, while Esteban Gonzlez was fifth (1:05.38). Nathanael Adams finished seventh (1.17.27), followed by Hanna Rushin (1:24.69) and Presley (1:25.23). 

In the mixed 100 meter individual medley Timothy Henry finished with a swim of 1:21.49, while Kyla Bethell was third with a time of 1:21.99. Naegeli finished third after finishing the race in 1:24.84.

In the mixed 50 meter butterfly, Gonzales was fourth (34.28), followed by Naegeli in seventh (39.55) and Bethell in eighth (36.23), while Broussard was second in 50 meter mixed backstroke with a time of 38.77.

Bethell finished first in the 50 meter backstroke with a time of 41.39, while Gonzales was second at 43.08. In the 100 meter butterfly Woodring took home the top spot with a swim of 1:04.55, followed by Broussard at 1:14.17. 

In the 200 meter freestyle the Eagles took home the top four spots. Burns finished first (2:36.79), followed by Adams (3:10.29), Rushin (3:11.83) and Presley (3:11.14).
