WBU Swimming Falls to Hendrix in Swimming Dual
CONWAY, Ark. (1/13/24) - The Williams Baptist University swim team dropped a dual match result to Hendrix College 160-32 Saturday afternoon at Bob Courtway Pool in Conway, Ark.
The team of Eric Burns, Esteban Gonzalez, Keegan Naegeli and Hayden Woodring won the 200-yard mixed freestyle relay with a time of 1:50.49, while Lizzy Broussard, Kyla Bethel, Hanna Rushin and Nathanel Adams finished second (2:07.84).
Broussard finished second in the 1000 meter freestyle with a time of 13:45.74, while Burns finished third in the men's event with a time of 13:07.56.
Rushin finished third in the 200 meter freestyle with a time of 2:48.01, while Naegeli finished fifth with a time of 2:42.23 and Jakob Presley was sixth (3:00.42). Rushin also finished fifth (35.50) in the 50-meter freestyle.
Bethell was third in the 100 meter breaststroke (1:27.14), while Gonzalez was second (1:29.67) in the men's race. Gonzalez was fourth (27.13) in the men's 50-freestyle, followed by Nathanel Adams (30.13) and Presley (36.63).
Woodwring was fifth (2:42.37) in the 200-meter butterfly, while Bethel was fourth (1:09.45) in the 100-meter freestyle. In the men's 100-meter freestyle, Burns finished third (54.97), while Naegeli was sixth (1:10.03).
Bethel finished second (3:24.09) in the 200-yard breaststroke, while Broussard was second (6:37.88) in the 500-yard freestyle. Burns was third (6:38.70) in the men's 500-yard freestyle, while Broussard (1:18.80) was fourth in the 100-yard butterfly.
Wooding was second (1:01.83) in the men's 100-yard butterfly and then also finished third (2:37.73) in the 200 yard individual medley. His teammate Naegeli finished fourth (3:04.93).
The team will next compete at the the BCC Invitational in Great Bend, Kan., Jan. 19.
