WBU Swim Teams Compete at Liberal Arts Championships
HOBART, Ind. (2/19/24) – The Williams Baptist men's and women's swim teams took part in the Liberal Arts Championships at the Hobart Aquatic Centre Feb. 14-17.
Lizzy Broussard made the finals in two events, posting a ninth place finish in the 1650 yard freestyle and a 12th place finish in the 500 yard freestyle. She turned in a time of 32:32.24 in the 1650 yard race and then a mark of 6:07.31 in the 500 yard freestyle race.
Hayden Woodring placed 9th in the 200 yard butterfly with a tome of 2:28.68 and then 12th in the 100 yard butterfly with a mark of 57.56. Kyla Bethell brought home a 10th place finish in the 200 yard breaststroke after swimming the race in 3:05.47.
In the 200 yard freestyle Esteban Gonzalex finished ninth with a time of 2:09.99 and Nathanael Adams was 10th with a mark of 2:38.71. Jakob Presley finished 11th after swimming the race in 2:57.24.
Williams placed fifth in the men's 200 yard medley relay after the team of Keegan Naegeli, Gonzalez, Woodring and Adams swam the event in a time of 2:06.85. The same group also placed fourth in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a mark of 1:46.12
The team of Woodring, Gonzalez, Adams and Eric Burns finished fourth in the 800 yard freestyle race with a time of 9:12.25.
