WBU Wrestling Takes Part in Pepsi Patriot Open

CORBIN, Ky. (11/4/23) - The Williams Baptist University wrestling team opened its 2023-24 season by taking part in the Pepsi Patriot Open.

Kendric Gordon was 2-2 in Open 184 brackets after opening with a decision over Hunter Lehrke (Lindsey Wilson (Ky.)) (Dec 3-2). He lost in the quarterfinal round, but then picked up another victory over Chase Price in round two of the consolation bracket. 

Tashon White went 2-2 on the day, which included a major decision over Ethan Blumenthal (Keiser University ) (Maj 15-3) in the second round of the consolation bracket.

Isaiah Vircarrondo was 2-2 and had two decisions with wins over Gage Hudson (CumberlandKY) (Dec 8-7) and Anthony Perez Guerrero (Southern Oregon) (Dec 4-1).

Alzarius Boykins was 1-2 on the with a sudden victory over Brandon Moreno (Life) (SV-1 4-1)

Ross Womack went 0-2, while Jakob Wilcox, Logan Taylor and Michah Oltmanns, Jonathan Vizcarrondo all went 0-2.
