Lady Eagles Swept By Trojans

HANNIBAL, Mo. - The Williams softball team lost both games of its doubleheader at Hannibal-LaGrange on Monday afternoon. They dropped game one 3-0 and game two 3-0. The Lady Eagles are now 13-17 overall and 1-3 in conference play.

Game One

The first game of the doubleheader was a pitcher's dual for the first three innings, but the Trojans were able to find the breakthrough in the fourth inning and added more in the fifth inning. The Lady Eagles were unable to get much going at the plate, despite having eight hits in the game. 

Maddie Wallace pitched 6.0 innings and gave up three runs off nine hits, walked two and struck out one. 

Game Two

The Lady Eagles were able to get some offensive production in the second game. The Trojans scored a run in the first inning and Kaitlyn Anderson tied the game up in the second inning with a RBI fielder's choice. Williams took the lead in the fifth off a RBI by Bailey Crump, but the Trojans responded with two runs in the home half to take the lead. 

Tori Kierbach pitched 6.0 innings and gave up three runs off five hits and walked three.

The Lady Eagles continue their road swing with a stop in St. Louis for a doubleheader against Missouri Baptist on Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 11 am.
