Lady Eagles Go Winless at AMC Tournament

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Williams softball team goes 0-2 at the AMC Tournament. They dropped their first game against Missouri Baptist 4-3, and their second game against Central Baptist 7-0.

Game One

The Spartans took an early lead on the Lady Eagles, scoring two runs in the first and one run in the second. However, the Lady Eagles battled back and scored two runs in the fourth when Hali Williams scored on a error by the catcher and Alyssa Cordell scored on an error by the third baseman. Williams tied the game in the sixth when Kaydra Cole reached on an error that allowed Shelby Jones to score. The game ended in heartbreaking fashion for the Lady Eagles, as they had gotten two outs, before the Spartans hit a solo shot to walk it off. 

Angel Gillette pitched 6.2 innings and gave up four runs off six hits, walked two and struck out two. 

Game Two 

The second game of the day was not good at all for the Lady Eagles as they were no-hit by the Mustangs and lost 7-0. 

Maddie Wallace got the start and pitched 3.2 innings and gave up five runs off eight hits and walked one. Cassidi Doyle pitched 3.1 innings of relief and gave up two runs off four hits, walked two and struck out two. 

The Lady Eagles end the season 20-28 overall and 7-11 in conference play.
