Lady Eagles Swept By OKWU

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. - The Williams softball team was swept by the Oklahoma Wesleyan Eagles on Tuesday afternoon, dropping the first game 13-1 in five innings and the second game 11-4.

Game One

The Lady Eagles dropped the first game 13-1 in five innings. Williams scored their lone run in the fourth inning when Naomi Crowley hit a RBI single to the shortstop. Shelby Jones and Alyssa Cordell also collected hits in the game. 

Cassidi Doyle got the start and pitched 1/3 of an inning, giving up four runs off one hit. Morgan Garner pitched 3.2 innings of relief and gave up nine runs off 11 hits. 

Game Two

The Lady Eagles dropped game two 11-4 and scored all their runs in the fifth inning. Cordell got the scoring started with a RBI double to left field. Megan Weis followed that up with a RBI single to center that scored two. Finally, Kaydra Cole hit a RBI single to center to score Weis. 

Weis went 2-2 and Breanna Shaffer went 2-3 in the game to lead the team. 

Alexis Rubio got the start and pitched 3.0 innings. She gave up ten runs off 11 hits. Angel Gillette pitched 3.0 innings of relief and gave up one run off five hits.

The Lady Eagles travel to Pine Bluff on Friday, Feb. 10 for a doubleheader against the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
