Lady Eagles Fall to (8) Central Methodist

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. - The Williams softball team dropped their doubleheader matchup against the (8) Central Methodist Eagles on Saturday afternoon. They dropped the first game 9-0 in five innings and the second game 12-3.

Game One

Not much went well for the Lady Eagles in the first game as they lost 9-0 in five innings. They tallied three hits in the game coming from Maddi Althenthal, Karsen Overshine, and Laila Byas

Angel Gillette got the start and pitched 3.0 innings in the loss. She allowed five runs off four hits, walked five and struck out two. Tori Kierbach pitched 2.0 innings of relief and allowed four runs off four hits and walked one.

Game Two

CMU got things going with two runs in the first inning, but the Lady Eagles got a run back in the home half of the inning when Alyssa Cordell hit a RBI single to center field. CMU extended their lead to 7-1 with three runs in the third inning and two runs in the fourth. Williams plated two runs in the fifth when Cordell and Ryleigh Tingle hit RBI singles to make it 7-3. Unfortunately, that was all the Lady Eagles were able to muster. CMU were able to add five more runs and ended with a 12-3 win.
