Lady Eagles Softball Signs Seven for 2024 Signing Class

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (4/11/24) - Williams Baptist head softball coach Jessica Nutt has announced the signing of seven talented student-athletes to the 2024 softball recruiting class.

This year's signing class features six incoming freshmen and one junior transfer, all bringing a wealth of experience and talent to the Lady Eagles program.

"We are excited to welcome this talented group of young women to the Williams Baptist University softball program," said Nutt.  "They are all highly skilled players with a strong work ethic and a passion for the game. We believe they will make a significant impact on our program both on and off the field."

 

Ashlyn Michael (Van Buren, Ark.)

A versatile catcher and third baseman from Van Buren High School, Michael is a three-time all-conference selection and a three-time offensive player of the year. She was also named all-state in 2023 and holds the single-season hit record and single-season throw out percentage at Van Buren High School. During the summer, Michael plays for Athletics Jendro-Boney.  She plans to major in business administration at WBU.

 

Bri McPike (Drasco, Ark.)

McPike joins the Lady Eagles from Concord High School where she was a standout pitcher, earning all-conference and all-regional honors. She plays travel ball for Tulsa Elite NEA.  McPike plans to major in elementary education at WBU.

 

Katie Wells (East End, Ark.)

A catcher and corner infielder, Wells comes to WBU from Bauxite High School where she was named all-conference and all-state during the 2022-2023 seasons. She plays for Arkansas Thunder in the summer. Wells plans to major in biology at WBU.

 

Brooklyn Arms (Mountain Home, Ark.)

Arms is a shortstop and utility player who will be joining the Lady Eagles from Mountain Home High School. She plays for the Mountain Home Diamonds during the summer. Arms plans to major in psychology at WBU.

 

Ella Murphree (West Memphis, Ark.)

Murphree will be joining the WBU program as a student assistant for the next four years.  A left fielder for Academies of West Memphis, Murphree plans to major in Child and Family Studies and Social Services at WBU.

 

McKenna Bittle (Greer's Ferry, Ark.)

Bittle is a junior transfer pitcher from the University of Arkansas Rich Mountain.  A three-time pitcher of the week this season, Bittle brings a wealth of experience to the Lady Eagles pitching staff. She plans to major in early childhood education at WBU.

 

Sutton Mitchell (Weaubleau, Mo.)

A utility player from Weaubleau High School, Mitchell is a decorated athlete earning all-academic, all-conference, all-district and all-region honors this past season. She plays for Missouri Aces travel ball. Mitchell plans to major in business management at WBU.
