WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (4/22/25) – The Williams Baptist University softball team concluded its 2025 regular season with a sweep of local conference rival Crowley's Ridge on Tuesday afternoon by the final scores of 6-3 and 9-1.
Natalia Watkins (1-3, 2 RBI, BB, R) and Kaylee Wolfe (3-4, 2 RBI, 2 R) led the way for the Lady Eagles at the plate.
Watkins put the Eagles on the board first in the top of the first inning when Wolfe came home on a groundout. WBU's 1-0 lead held until CRC tied the game in the bottom of the fourth.
Watkins responded with an RBI double in the fifth to put Williams back on top 2-1. Watkins scored later in the inning on a single from Breann Thresher to extend the lead to 3-1.
After the Pioneers added a run in the home half of the fifth to cut the lead to one, RBI doubles from Kaelyn Gooch and Kaylee Wolfe extended the Eagle advantage back to 6-2. Crowley's Ridge got a run back on a solo shot in the bottom of the sixth, but were unable to mount a comeback in the late innings.
Williams stole a team-high seven bases as a team in the contest.

Kaylee Wolfe (2-3, RBI, R) and Breann Thresher (1-4, 4 RBI, R, 2B) led the Williams offense in game two of the twinbill.
Wolfe opened the game up by rounding the bases on an error from the shortstop to put WBU up 1-0 in the first inning. Williams did not add on until the third when Thresher smacked a bases-clearing double for three runs to put the Eagles up 4-0.
WBU added a run in the fifth on a pinch-hit sacrifice fly from Bailey Crump, and solidified the victory with three runs in the sixth. CRC struck for its lone run in the bottom of the sixth, but Williams handled business to secure the run-rule victory.
Morgan Garner (14-4) secured the win in the circle after throwing 6.0 innings with no earned runs.
The Eagles conclude the regular season with a 32-12 overall record and 16-6 record in AMC play. 16 conference wins ties the school record for conference wins in a season, set in 2013 and 2016.
