Lady Eagles Dominate Hornets For Sixth Straight Win

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (2/8/24) – Williams Baptist University women's basketball extended its win streak to six straight with a 94-56 performance over Harris-Stowe State.

After a slow start in the first quarter, the Lady Eagles scored 33 points in the second to take a 48-37 lead at halftime.  WBU shot 76.9 percent from the floor in the second quarter, including 66.7 percent from three point range.

The Williams defense woke up out of the locker room, allowing only 19 Hornet points in the second half on 7-for-26 (26.9 percent) from the field.

Kaylee Clark led all scorers with 27 points. The Batesville native has put up at least 18 in each of the last six contests. Charmen Taylor and Taylor Hooten were also in double figures, with 14 points each.  Clark also paced the squad with eight boards on the night, followed closely by Sara Crowe, Kiri Stevenson, and Monica Horne who each collected seven.  Carmen Taylor tallied five assists on the offensive end and had three steals on the defensive end.

As a team, WBU shot 50 percent from the field, and 55 percent from beyond the arc.  The Eagles out-rebounded the Hornets 41-29, and scored 24 points off turnovers.  

The win moves the Lady Eagles to 10-2 in AMC play and 17-4 overall. 

The Lady Eagles look to continue the team's longest win streak of the year against Hannibal-LaGrange University on Saturday, Feb. 10.  Tip-off is set for 1 PM in Hannibal, Mo.
