
WBU to Face Mobile in NAIA Tournament Opening Round
WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (3/6/25) – The Williams Baptist University women's basketball team will make its second straight and second overall appearance in the NAIA National Tournament as the squad travels to Campbellsville, Ky. for the first and second rounds.
The No. 9 seeded Lady Eagles (27-4, 21-1 AMC) will face No. 8 Mobile in the opening round of the 2025 NAIA Women's Basketball Tournament presented by Ballogy on Friday, Mar. 14.
The victor will move on to face the winner of No. 1 Campbellsville and No. 16 Lourdes in the second round on Saturday, Mar. 15. Should the Lady Eagles win their second round matchup, they will advance to the final site of the NAIA National Championship in Sioux City, Iowa.
This is Williams' second straight year travelling to Kentucky for the tournament. The Lady Eagles fell to William Carey 71-64 in the opening round of the tournament in Campbellsville a season ago.
WBU earned an automatic bid to the NAIA Tournament after securing its first ever AMC regular season title after finishing conference play 21-1. The Lady Eagles have set new highs for wins in a season and conference wins in a season already.
Mobile earned an at-large bid into the tournament after finishing the year 22-8 overall and 11-5 in the Southern States Athletic Conference. The Rams fell in the SSAC Tournament final to Blue Mountain by the final score of 62-53.
