The Williams Baptist University women's soccer team lost to Harris-Stowe 9-0 Saturday afternoon in an American Midwest Conference matchup.
The Hornets jumped out in front of Williams (0-8-1, 0-1-1) early on and scored three goals in the first five minutes of the game. Harris-Stowe continued to build on its lead and added two more goals to take a 5-0 lead into the halftime break.
The scoring continued in the second half as the Hornets scored 55th, 67th, 68th and 85th minutes to build their 9-0 advantage.
For WBU, Livvie Campbell had two solid scoring opportunities in the match, but was denied each time by the Harris-Stowe goalkeeper. Kerrigan Kinsey made nine saves for the Lady Eagles.
WBU returns to the field Saturday, Oct. 7 for an AMC clash at Columbia. Kickoff is slated for Noon.
