Lady Eagles Drop AMC Match to Columbia

The Williams Baptist University women's soccer team lost 11-0 to No. 5 Columbia College on the road Saturday afternoon in American Midwest Conference play.

Columbia got the scoring started in the 14th minute, then followed up in the 16th minute with a goal from Macie Lucas to move the score to 2-0.  Columbia would score four more goals before the halftime whistle to go into the locker room up 6-0.

Columbia would pick up right where they left off in the 63rd minute with a goal from Athena Dericotte. The scoring would continue as the Cougars would find the back of the net in the 67th, 75th, 78th, and 84th minute to end the game with an 11-0 final score.

WBU Goalkeeper Kerrigan Kinsey played all 90 minutes of the match, securing 12 saves for the Eagles.

The Lady Eagles will pick back up next Saturday, Oct. 14, in St. Louis, Mo., against the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy at 7:30 p.m.
