Late Lady Eagles Rally Stopped Short in Loss to UHSP

The Williams Baptist University Women's Soccer team lost its Saturday night American Midwest Conference contest to the University of Health Science and Pharmacy by the final score of 4-2.

UHSP opened up scoring early with an unassisted goal from Ashton Agurirre in the 6th minute, and then another 16th minute goal from Lauren Harding.  The score would remain 2-0 until Katlyn Akers scored in the 48th minute, putting the Eutectics up 3-0.

The Lady Eagles would start to rally back after Nichole Craig put a deep free kick into the net in the 56th minute to bring the score to 3-1.

Craig would assist Kenzie Hatman to bring WBU within one score of UHSP in the 76th minute.  All the momentum the Lady Eagles built up would be put to an end, however, as UHSP's Emily Sitkowski scored in the 78th minute to put the game on ice with a 4-2 final.

Kerrigan Kinsey secured five saves in 90 minutes for the Lady Eagles.  WBU shot on goal six times in the match.

The Lady Eagles will be back in action Oct., 18 in St. Louis, Mo. against Missouri Baptist at 4 p.m.
