Eagles Fall to No. 18 Benedictine in Season Opener

ATCHISON, Kan. (8/23/24) – The Williams Baptist University women's soccer team lost its season opening matchup to No. 18 Benedictine College by the final score of 7-0 on Friday afternoon.

The game began as a defensive deadlock between the two teams.  Neither team was able to break through for a score until the 31st minute of the contest when Benedictine gained a 1-0 advantage.  

The Ravens struck for three more scores before the halftime whistle to go into the locker room up 4-0.

Benedictine scored three more times in the second half to win the match 7-0 and hand the Lady Eagles their first loss of the 2024 campaign.

Lisa Craig played all 90 minutes in goal for WBU, grabbing 12 saves.

Williams will play again on the road in Texarkana, Tex. against Texas A&M - Texarkana.  Kick-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Tuesday, August 27.
