TEXARKANA, Tex. (8/27/24) – The Williams Baptist University women's soccer team dropped its Tuesday evening contest to Texas A&M - Texarkana by the final score of 6-0.
The Lady Eagles had a close look at an early lead with a shot on goal by Victoria de Abreu in just the 18th minute, but it was saved by the Texarkana keeper.
WBU held TAMUT close until the Eagles finally broke through in the 25th minute. Texarkana scored once more in the 43rd to push the advantage to 2-0 before the halftime whistle.
TAMUT continued to score in the second half, notching four goals to take the win.
Lisa Craig played all 90 minutes in goal for WBU, grabbing 13 saves.
The loss drops the Lady Eagles to 0-2 on the season.
Williams will look to get back on track in the home opener on Friday afternoon against Evangel. Kick-off is slated for 1 p.m. at the WBU Soccer Field in Walnut Ridge, Ark.
