Eagles Take Care of Scots for Second Straight Win

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (9/10/24) – The Williams Baptist University women's soccer team won its' second straight match against Lyon College at home on Tuesday evening by the final score of 2-1.

The Eagles struck for the first score in the match only 10 minutes in when Juanita Trujillo's pass connected with Victoria de Abreu in the box to put WBU up 1-0.

WBU continued the offensive momentum in the 20th minute when Mackenzie Souers broke loose for an unassisted score to put the Eagles up 2-0.

Williams allowed a Lyon goal in the 59th minute of the match, but held strong to stay on top and take the win 2-1.

The Lady Eagles out-shot the Scots 20-13 in the match, and put nine shots on goal.

Lisa Craig played all 90 minutes in goal for WBU, grabbing four saves on five chances for the win.

WBU will wrap up its three game homestand on Saturday, Sept. 14 against Jamestown.  Kick-off is set for 1 p.m. from the WBU Soccer Field.
