De Abreu Claims AMC Offensive Player of the Week Honors
WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (10/28/24) – After scoring eight goals in two games, Williams Baptist University freshman Victoria de Abreu was named the American Midwest Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for week 10 of the season, the league announced on Monday.
De Abreu's week was highlighted by a record-breaking seven goal performance against Central Baptist on Tuesday. The Lecheria, Venezuela native broke the WBU record for goals in a single game with all seven of WBU's scores in a 7-0 blowout victory.
She added another goal on Saturday against Harris-Stowe State to bring her total on the week to eight.
De Abreu has also set a new record for goals in a season with 14 so far. She sits in second place for the most goals in the conference.
WBU will return to the pitch to close out the regular season on Tuesday, Oct. 29 against Columbia. Kick-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. from the WBU Soccer Field.
