Bio
Daniel Carney was brought in as the Head Women’s Soccer Coach for WBU prior to the 2023 season.
Prior to joining the Eagles, Carney was the Lead Assistant Coach for the Missouri Baptist men’s soccer team, where he played a vital role in training plan development, recruiting efforts, and gameday functions.
In 2019, Carney joined Albion Hurricanes F.C. in Houston, Texas. During his tenure, he oversaw multiple girls’ and boys’ teams, including the ‘07 and ‘02 comp ECNL girls’ teams, the ‘04 ECRL girls’ team, and the central campus 2010 & 2011 boys’ teams. Carney’s coaching expertise and dedication to player development were pivotal to the success of those teams.
He also coached as a graduate assistant at Ottawa University in Kansas, while concurrently coaching U7 boys and U11 girls for Sporting Kaw Valley in the Kansas City area.
Carney began his coaching career as the junior varsity coach at Grapevine Faith and Christian school in Texas. He also guided the U10 boys at Solar Chelsea.
Carney began his playing career locally in his hometown of Liverpool, England. After that, he chose to play collegiately at Oklahoma Wesleyan University. Carney was a key piece of a team that won two conference championships and two conference tournament championships for OKWU in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.
He graduated from Oklahoma Wesleyan in 2015 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports and Recreational Leadership, and earned a Master’s Degree from Ottawa University in Leadership Development.
