WBU Swim Team Competes at Sam Freas Invite
The Williams Baptist University swimming and diving team opened its 2023-24 by competing at the Sam Freas Invite on Saturday, Sept. 23.
In the men's 200-yard freestyle, Eric Burns turned in a time of 2:10.11 to finish 18th, while Nathanael Adams was 19th with a time of 3:00.01. Esteban Gonzalez finished 17th in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:27.96. Hayden Woodring was 24th in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.46, while Nathanael Admas turned in a time of 31.28 and Jakob Presley rounded out the results with a time of 37.17.
The men's 200 yard medley relay team (Burns, Gonzalez, Woodring and Adams) finished 12th with a time of 2:03.52
In the 100-yard freestyle, Gonzalez had a personal best with a time of 1:00.62, while Presley finished the race in 1:24.15. Burns completed the 500-yard freestyle race in 6:08.47. Woodring finished 19th in the 100-yard butterfly (59.99),
In the women's 200-yard freestyle Lizzy Broussard finished 18th with a time of 2:24.79, while Hanna Rushin was 21st with a time of 2:51.30. Rushin also competed in the 100-yard freestyle and completed the race in 1:18.09. Broussard also competed in the 500-yard freestyle and finished with a time of 6:32.76.
In the 100-yard breaststroke Kyla Bethel finished 22nd with a time of 1:23.15, and also had a time of 1:08.92 in the 100-yard freestyle.
