Eagles Compete at Harding Multi Invite

SEARCY, Ark. - The Williams Baptist track and field athletes who participate in the decathlon and heptathlon competed at the Harding Multi Invite over the past two day.

Read Parker (JR/Mountain Home, Ark.) and Karlis Smith (SO/West Memphis, Ark.) competed in the decathlon, finishing in sixth and eighth respectively. Parker finished with 4505 points. He set a new personal record in the pole vault with a clearance of 3.71 m, a new personal record in the 400m with a time of 58.43, and in the 100m with a time of 12.19. It was also his first time competing in the event for outdoor track.

Smith set a new PR with his decathlon score of 3483. He also set new PRs in the: 110 hurdles with a time of 23.22, 100m with a time of 13.36, 1500m with a time of 5:17.53, shot put with a throw of 7.50m, high jump with a clearance of 1.63m, discus with a throw of 19.41m , and the javelin with a throw of 28.84m.

Kristin Sutton (FR/Gosnell, Ark.) and Emily Weiss (SO/Gosnell, Ark.) competed in the heptathlon, finishing in fifth and sixth respectively. Sutton finished with a score of 2338, while Weiss finished with a score of 2014 and set a new PR in the shot put with her throw of 6.76m.
