Jones Named Second Team All-AMC
WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (11/12/24) – The Williams Baptist volleyball team landed three players on the American Midwest Conference All-Conference awards list, the league announced on Tuesday.
Meadow Jones was named to the AMC All-Conference Second Team following her play in the 2024 regular season. The freshman led the team with 208 kills on a .220 hitting percentage, and led the squad in blocks with 65.
In addition, Jaycie Cook and Tinleigh Ruhman were named AMC All-Conference Honorable Mentions. Cook had the fifth most assists in the AMC with 556 and averaged 5.91 assists per set on the year as the Eagles' main setter. Ruhman led the team in hitting percentage on a .246 clip to go along with 153 kills, the third most on the team.
Desirae Walker was named as the WBU representative for the AMC Champions of Character Team. This award honors those who best exemplify the five core values of the NAIA's Champions of Character Initiative; Integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.
Williams will return to the court Tuesday, Nov. 12 to take on No. 3 seed Stephens in the quarterfinal round of the American Midwest Conference Volleyball Tournament. The match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start time from Columbia, Mo.
