WBU Cross Country Claims Top-10 Individual Finishers at Lyon College Invite

The Williams Baptist University men's and women's track teams competed in their second race of the season on Friday night with both squads placing runners in the top-10 of the Lyon College Invitational.

Jason Detrick paced the men's squad with a time of 22:03.07 to finish fifth overall in the race, while Jacob Short finished eighth with a time of 24:09.94. 

Abram Fessenden also claimed a top-10 finish with a time of 24:39.88, while Karlis Smith was just outside the top-10 with a time of 25:43.68. Ronald Hill (28:08.12) and Cody Carden (29:11.02) rounded out the runners for Williams on the night. 

In the women's race, Mikey Larson finished second with a time of 23:13.36, while Kira Rogers was fifth after running the course in 26:05.74. Macie Noel turned in a time of 34:59.02 and Brittany Dowdy rounded out the scoring for the Eagles with a time of 42:41.48. 

The team will next race at the Larry Young Invite, hosted by Columbia College on Friday, Sept. 15.
