Jonker Takes Silver in Trojan Invitational
HANNIBAL, Mo. (10/14/24) – Sophomore Aletta Jonker led the way for the Williams Baptist University men's and women's cross country teams on Saturday at the Trojan Invitational hosted by Hannibal-LaGrange University in Hannibal, Mo.
Jonker finished second in the women's 5K with a time of 22:33.8 for her first podium finish as an Eagle.
Alyssa Russell followed with a time of 29:46.7 for a 16th place finish. Macie Noel ran the course in 32:41.2 to finish in 19th, and Calista Christian rounded out the squad with a 38:24.6 for a 21st place finish.
On the men's side, Jason Detrick and Bryan Williams were the only two Eagles to compete in the event. Detrick finished in 20th with a time of 38:48.8 in the 8K, and Williams completed the run in 41:41.1.
Next, Eagles cross country will have one final tune-up before the conference meet in the Mikayla Sherrill Fall Classic hosted by the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis, Mo. on Saturday, Oct. 19.
