Lady Eagles End Season at AMC Championships

HANNIBAL, Mo. (11/8/24) – The Williams Baptist women's cross country team saw its 2024 season come to a close at the American Midwest Conference Cross Country Championships on Friday morning in Hannibal, Mo.

As a team, WBU finished seventh out of nine teams with a total team score of 210.

Aletta Jonker led the way for the Lady Eagles, finishing the 6k course in 21st place with a time of 26:02.35.  Alyssa Russel and Allyson Marlow followed with 51st and 55th place finishes at 37:30.74 and 39:48.14, respectively.

Dayshia Espinoza-Ford finished the course in 56:39.12 for a 59th place finish, and Elizabeth Fowler rounded out the team in 60th place with a time of 56:40.87.

After the race concluded the league announced its 2024 postseason awards.  Aletta Jonker was named to the AMC Champions of Character team, and Elizabeth Fowler and Calista Christian were named to the AMC Academic All-Conference team.
